Soh Soh Restaurant
About This Spot
Nestled in a quiet corner of Seogwipo-si, Soh Soh Restaurant feels like a gentle secret whispered among the quieter streets of Jeju. The moment you step inside, you’re embraced by an unhurried rhythm—soft conversations mingle with the subtle clatter of bowls and chopsticks, while the warmth from the husband and wife team who run the place quietly fills the room. It’s less a restaurant and more a heartfelt gathering where the pace slows just enough for you to settle in and truly savor each bite.
The atmosphere here is deeply personal, reflective of a local home that opens its doors to visitors with genuine care. Despite the modest size, every corner speaks of thoughtful attention—the simple wooden tables, the carefully arranged side dishes, and the gentle smiles that come along with every dish served. It’s a place where strangers quickly become familiar faces, brought together by the shared delight of well-crafted, home-style meals.
The food experience at Soh Soh touches on the essence of Jeju’s coastal gifts, with seafood playing a starring role—imagine the comforting warmth of a hot pot bubbling with fresh octopus, abalone, and local vegetables, accompanied by subtly seasoned side dishes that invite you to explore every unique flavor. There’s a delicate balance here between tradition and approachability, making each dish feel both authentically rooted and thoughtfully presented. Whether it’s the freshness of the daily catch or the humble elegance of homemade sauces, each bite tells a story of place and care.
More than just a meal, dining here becomes a quietly joyful experience of connection—between the land, the sea, and the people who cherish them. The couple’s attentive presence, often checking in with an easy smile despite any language gaps, adds a layer of warmth that lingers long after you leave. Soh Soh Restaurant is not about spectacle but about the quiet joy of sharing simple, honest flavors in a setting where you feel truly welcomed.

Very nice food and the couple there was so nice, very welcoming even with language barrier, coming very so often to check if the food was enough or to standard. We all loved it so so much. We even took a picture with the lovely couple. They made our day!

Prepare to be amazed. This restaurant is incredible with some of the best seafood hotpot I've had in my life. Even better, it is a tiny family restaurant as the husband and wife team provides an unparalleled meal to the small dining room. If you have time, don't miss this meal. 맛있어요.

There were a few other tables of foreigners (like us) so I was worried that the food wouldn't be "authentic", but the sweet Korean couple that runs this place makes delicious, beautifully presented food. Nothing inauthentic about that; they are just smart enough to make things look appealing to foreigners and non-foreigners alike. I like that the dishes incorporate a lot of fresh produce and seafood. The decor is cute and atmosphere is nice. There are views of citrus trees surrounding the restaurant. We would definitely come back.

I would give this place more stars if I could, because the owners truly went above and beyond. The food was really delicious (we got chicken curry and abalone with rice). The place is cozy with very nice designs, from the menu to the decoration, to the many things they sell in their little shop in the middle of the restaurant. The owners also offered us to try some tangerine sikhye, and we instantly fell in love with this Korean drink. We were already satisfied with the service here, yet what happened next made it even better: we weren't able to get a taxi to get back to our hotel and it was a bit too dark for us to walk outside or wait for a not-so-frequent bus, so one of the owners drove us back to our hotel! My jaw was literally dropping the whole ride -- this kind of hospitality is truly rare. We were beyond grateful. Please come try the food here and support the place! To the restaurant owners: Thank you again, and I really hope your business will take off even more. Much love from Vietnam.

The place is a little hard to find and out of the way. Parking is difficult because only street space is available. The signage is small and easily missed. With all the goings on against this restaurant it is one of the best places I have patronizd, I would highly recommend to make the effort to make this place your lunch destination because the couple running the place greatly cares about what they are serving. The quality of the ingredients, excellent presentation, wonderful service and the amazing taste of the ordered dishes were outstanding. I will definitely remember this restaurant.
